Parliament passes GST amendment bills to levy 28% tax on online gaming

The amendments include provisions for the blocking of access to overseas online gaming platforms in cases of non-compliance with registration and tax payment requirements, and the imposition of a GST liability on offshore entities providing online money gaming, which would also have to be registered in India. The amendments need to be passed in state GST laws in their respective state assemblies.
